There are currently two licensing models for business users wanting to implement Office365 in China.

Companies with less than 300 users can opt for one of three Office 365 for Business plans (Basic, Standard, Premium), and for larger companies, there are four “Office 365 for Enterprise plans”, all of which support unlimited users. License types can be mixed to suit the needs of the business.

There are some differences between the two versions.

China version MS Office365 is operated by 21Vianet and fully compliant with China cybersecurity requirements.

The China version MS Office365 subscription does not include all the apps and functionality of global MS Office365, but cost of subscription is also lower.

The service support China version MS Office365 is very good and provided either by 21Vianet directly or via MCP Indirect Partners (ex: InnTech IT Solutions ).

With China subscription MS Office365 you also get PR China VAT invoice tax.

Microsoft365 in China subscription includes all that is in Office365 in China, plus Windows 10/11 OS activation and Enterprise Mobility + Security.

Yes, as of September 2023, the MS Teams is included with Office365 China subscriptions.

 

However, MS Teams China version does not seamlessly integrate out of the box with the global version MS Teams.

We recommend at least four weeks advanced preparations before migrating your email system to MS Office365.

Activation and customization of Office365 tenant can be done in few hours, but migrating the old emails, old contacts, calendar, etc. in the new environment needs time.

Different email systems use different formats for email files, and specialized software may be required to upload it correctly to Office365 server.

As well, engaging Office365 as email for business will enforce the upgrade and genuine activation of Office Apps on your users’ devices. Old versions office software may need to be removed, and the latest Office version installed. Removing the old office software may require professional tools, for a clean setup, especially if you used cracked version office software.

Customizing EntraID, InTune Device management, rules and policies do require proper planning and time as well.
